search for the wreckage of an aircraft piloted by Gertrude “Tommy” Tompkins
Silver -the last missing member of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of
World War II.

Captain Mark “Sharky”
Alexander started diving 21 years ago as a Public Safety diver for the
Springfield/Sangamon County ESDA (Emergency Services Disaster Agency) Rescue
Squad in Illinois. He then took up ocean diving and became a
Divemaster, and proceeded on to become a PADI Master Instructor, IANDT
Instructor, TDI Inspiration Classic/Vision CCR Instructor, Full Time Paramedic,
EMT-Instructor, Paramedic-Instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support-Instructor,
Pediatric Advanced Life Support-Instructor, Advanced Pre-Hospital Life
Support-Instructor, Advanced Diver Medical Technician, Hyperbaric Chamber
Technician.
In May 2007 he started his
company: Sharky’s Underwater Expeditions, LLC.
His company focuses on doing more advanced travel, exploration,
specialized training, Closed Circuit Rebreather Training, lectures on Diving
Injuries and remote medical treatment,
technical and creative help of various diving series on Television with KPI
Productions in New York. His company
also is a Closed Circuit Rebreather Dealer in the Midwest
and a Regional Distributor for AddHelium.com.
Sharky has recently been
voted into the Prestigious Explorer’s Club March 2010.
He also holds a USCG
Licensed 50 Ton Master Captains license for near coastal with a licensed towing
endorsement.
He has had then opportunity
to do television work with Capt. Dan Crowell for the Military Channel Series
“Quest for Sunken Warships” on the episodes of “Torpedo Alley” & “Truk
Lagoon” as well as the History Channels series “Weird US” & “Weird
Underworld” episodes.
Sharky has also
done some photo work for various magazines and news articles. Most recently is his article in Military
Magazine “A Search for the Last Missing WASP of WWII”
Mark “Sharky” Alexander has
served for the last 20 years as a senior NCO in the USAFR, specializing in
aircraft weapons technology.
